BAM 6.10 is published !

Hello,

Just that post to inform you that I just published BAM v 6.10 in the MP !
The app should be public in the MP in few days.

That version comes quite quickly after v6 but, as said in my previoust post,  I now decided to fix asap the remaining bugs that I found or that you report to me, and provides quickly an updated version.
I want you to have a great experience with BAM and that the application remains very stable.

 

- In that version I also worked hard to improve the speed of list groups expansion (it is now immediate the second time a group is expanded).

- I also added more order criterias to sort items in a group; until now the transactions in a group were mainly oredered by date only but since v6.10 you can choose a sort  criteria among a list of sort  criterias, depending of the current BAM list. This option gives you so again more flexibility to customize as you want any BAM list ! ;-)

-I finally decided to allow customizing  more in depth the BAM colors of BAM lists : you can so now create your own color theme, choosing any custom color you want among a large list of colors ! To try that feature, just select the “Custom” theme color in the BAM settings page, and then edit it.

BAM v6.10 coming

just this post to inform you BAM v 6.1 is  quite ready.  I know that this verison comes quickly after v6 but I decided now to fix asap the remaining bugs that  I found, or the onesx you reported to me, and provides quickly a minor update.

I took also the opportunity of that version to  improve the speed of list groups expansion (now immediate  the seccond time  a group is expanded).

I also added more order criterias to sort items in a group, indeed until now the items  were mainly oredered by date only; now you can choose an  order criteria among a list of order criterias, depending of the current BAM list.
This option gives you again more flexibility to customize as you want  the list items display !

BAM v6 is now available in the MP, enjoy it !

Hello,

BAM v6 is now available in the MP so you should be able to update BAM. !

As any update of BAM your existing data should be preserved of course but prefer to backup your data to SkyDrive or your PC using the builtin BAM backup feature before to upgrade.

I added some new features in this build but also fixed some issues that I found or that you reported to me. BAM will list these new features at startup time if you do an update.

Notice that the trial version is not implementing anymore advertizing like in v5.20 but now comes back to a classic trial mode with so limited number of transactions or accounts created.

I really hope that you will enjoy this version and I encourage you to report me any issues you have or sugestions you would like to be implemented if they can be useful for all BAM users.

BAM v 6.00 coming !

Hello,

“long” time  I did not update my blog but I was quite busy working on v6.00

I’m happy so to inform you that v 6.00 is finished and I will publish it probably next week  !

These are some of the new features of that version :

- BAM provides now its own hub to dsplay some graphics (.bat, pie, curves)
Each graphic is configurable in terms of data to represent and each filter you created in BAM can be also added in the Graphics Hub

- The new transaction page was a litle bit designed to be more intuitive

- BAM provides now a third list view mode which is some sort of report view when displaying its list items. This mode is useful to display a maximum of items in a page.

- BAM provides now the possibility to add Credit Cards accounts (ex: AMEX CC).
When you create a such account, you will have to specifty a target checking (banking) account which be also credited or debited at reconciliation time.
You can continue of course to choose a Credit card payment type for a checking account but if you have a specific CC account, you can use now so this option.
The  total of pending CC transactions will be displayed per processing date in the pending transactions list or the target account, so you can see quickly the total amount of CC transactions.

- you can choose for each BAM account to either manually reconcile its pending transactions (i.e verify the transactions against your bank receipts or bank web site) or to automatically reconcile each new transaction targeting the account.

- you can now also reconcile your transactions directy inside the view of a BAM account.

- some bugs were also fixed of course in that version, related to the backup/data process (ex: reconcilied transactions were not restored using SKyDrive restore)

I will create a post to annouce its publishing

And many thanks for all your feedbacks and suggestions that you sent me, they  allowed BAM to evolve continously !

BAM v5.20 now available in the MP

Hello,

v5.20 is now available in the MP as an upgrade.

I implemented the support of SkyDrive in that version when we need to backup/restore or import/export but  this version brings also some interesting other features that some BAM users  suggested to me  like the possibility to filter quickly a  Payee, budget, or a post to select for a new transaction, and to filter only some transactions  in the different transactions lists of BAM using their caption or amount.

You can also create now an “investment” account behaving like a cash account in fact where reconciliation is not needed, as opposed to a Checking account (i.e  “Current” acccount).

I mention also that the trial mode of that new version does not limit anymore now the number of transactions to enter but it still displays an adverting control and prevents to have more than two acount ( a Cash account and one more account) and 10 recurrent (periodic) transactions, but except these limitations the trial version is now so fully functionnal.

I hope that you will find these new features useful.

Feel free to ping me to let me know your feedbacks, questions, or suggestions regarding that version.

In the next version I will implement some graphics, this is a long expected feature

V 5.20 is ready !

I just finished v 5.20 which provides mainly features that you suggested me :

- BAM is now localized also in German (thanks to Peter, a BAM user, who helped me on that !)

-   SkyDrive implementation for backup/restore/export/import.
you can now so backup or restore very easily all your BAM data to/from SkyDrive just by signing to SkyDrive.
You can also import into BAM any .OFX file uploaded to SkyDrive.

- The Selection page (to select a currency, a payee/payer, a category or a budget) contains now a filter field to list quickly and only the items you want.
This option was suggested by several BAM users to select quickly a payee/payer in a large list

- Some main lists contains also now a filter field to list quickly and only the list items you want based on the item title (or the transaction amount for the transactions lists).
You can so use this  new option to apply a quick filter on most of the main lists

- Each transactions list of a custom filter, payee/payer, category or budget  manages and saves  now its own ”group by” criteria. The grouping criteria is so maintained when BAM is restarted

- To unlock faster BAM, the password page puts now the focus on the password field, and the <Enter> key can validate the password entered (suggested by a BAM user)

 

I have now to  modify the doc and run additional tests and then I will probably publish that version next week-end.

BAM v5.10 is published

Hello BAM users !

I published this week-end v5.10 and I really hope that you will like it !

these are below the new features of that version :

- Welcome screen to give you a quick access to any BAM list including pined filters.

- “Metro” theme becomes the default theme and has been completly redesigned to give a better experience !

-  Currency rate can also be retrieved automatically or manually entered for an account (in previous versions, only transactions could retrieve currency rate)

- A total of all balances of all accounts is now visible in the Accounts list and in the dashboard. This total of all accounts balance takes of course in account the currency  and rate configured for each account

- Filters can display now additional information in the “detailed view”mode like an average of amount, the min expense, the max expense, etc….

- Global or account’s upcoming transactions can be listed now on the back of their corresponding tile.

- Transactions to remind can be  listed now on the back of the main BAM tile.

- A delay can be now configured in BAM settings for transactions to remind

- Transactions reminders are now also created using new Mango API

- BAM settings are now organized per section in a pivot view

- New settings to define upcoming transations and reminders tiles content

- Submit suggestions button

- Detailed FR and US help embedded in BAM in HTML format with a a content table for quick access to topics

- Previous bugs reported fixed

This version should be available in the MP in few days so check your application updates notifications  !

BAM V 5.10 coming

“long” time I did not update my blog but I was quite busy with my own job and at same time working updating BAM.

I’m happy to inform you that v 5.10 is finished and should be published end of that week with the fixes and new features below :

- Fixed duplicated budgets bug when pined in the Dashboard
- Fixed exception when operations to remind are detected
- Fixed exception when clikcing on “showing accounts” from an account page
- Fixed problem of decimal separator not visible in the keyboard of the transaction details page for non-US keyboard : entering now a ‘.’ will be considered as a valid seperator even on a non-US language

- New Welcome page using Hub Tiles to have quick access to any BAM list !
- New Metro theme added to the two existing ones
- Existing metro theme re-touched to be better metro-like
- Total of all balances of all accounts visible at the bottom of the Account page (suggested by a BAM user) and in the Dashboard
- Operations to remind are now visible in the back tile of the main BAM tile
- 6 first upcomping operations of an account are now listed in the back of the corresponding tile

Graphics implementation and SkyDrive usage for backup/restore/import/export are in preparation but will arrive in a next version and when SkyDrive API will be officially released

BAM V5 ready to be published

I’m pleased to confirm that BAM V5 for Mango is ready now to be published in the MP !
This version is really specific to Mango and you will see it in the MP only if you have Mango installed (push of Mango should be imminent anyway now); this version brings three main features :

- BAM V5 will remain now in the background when deactivated and so will be reactivated immediately because of its compilation for Mango

- BAM V5 provides the possibility to create many secondary tiles; in fact all the list of the main page and also all the important lists of each account with their balance can be pinable in the start screen.
For the lists specific to a account, BAM provides an option to display or not the balance in the back of the tile; so you have a quick access to the balance amount of any account you want
Still about the tiles, BAM V5 allows creating a secondary tile to access directly to the New transaction page, so in one tap on this tile you will be redirected immediately and directly to the page to enter a new transaction.

I will provide asap some screenshots to illustrate tiles usage.

- The third feature is a background agent which is just there to calculate the upcoming & periodic transactions to impute and to update the secondary created tiles, w/o the need to start the App.

I will submit that version probably next week, so maybe just before the Mango release !
